The Colorado Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) has been asked by Xcel Energy and a coalition of 14 groups to approve the “Colorado Energy Plan” (CEP) by the end of 2017. The plan will increase Colorado’s clean energy portfolio while keeping Xcel customer rates the same or lower. The approval of the plan could offer potential investments of up to $2.5 billion that will benefit rural Colorado. The Jefferson County Economic Development Corporation’s Government Affairs Committee and Board of Directors have reviewed the plan and voted to support it. Click here for more details on the CEP.
