Jeffco EDC, founded by a group of businessmen in 1955 as “Industries for Jefferson County”, was formed to attract the Glenn L. Martin Company, known today as Lockheed Martin, to Jefferson County.

Over the next 60+ years, Lockheed has been a catalyst for the county’s aerospace industry, and has become Jefferson County’s largest private-sector primary employer, with more than 6,200 employees. Since 2014, Lockheed has increased employment in the county by 30%, creating nearly 1,500 high-paying jobs. Since 2014, Jeffco EDC has worked with Lockheed on multiple projects that have created over 1,500 employees.

HomeAdvisor, located in Jefferson County, is leading the home improvement revolution. With over 1,100 employees, HomeAdvisor is the largest consumer technology company in Colorado.

Jefferson County EDC and The Colorado Office of Economic Development have worked with HomeAdvisor to support the expansion of nearly 900 new jobs in the coming years. HomeAdvisor’s parent company, InterActiveCorp, recently acquired Angie’s List to expand their home improvement services and technology platform.

Terumo BCT, a global leader in blood component and cellular technologies, has its global headquarters in Jefferson County. The company is one of the county’s largest primary employers, with over 2,200 employees.

Recently, the company expanded its operations by building a new 125,000 square-foot facility on its campus in the city of Lakewood. The $45 million project will create 300 high-paying jobs and bring over $10 million in capital investment to Jefferson County. Jeffco EDC worked in partnership with Jefferson County, the city of Lakewood, and the Colorado Office of Economic Development & International Trade to secure incentives for the expansion.

Pilatus Business Aircraft Ltd. is expanding its operations in unincorporated Jefferson County. The company has plans to build a new 118,000 square-foot facility at the Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport (RMMA).

The new $22 million facility will replace and expand its current operations at RMMA, and provide aircraft completion support for the Pilatus PC-12 and the PC-24 aircraft. The project will nearly double employment and bring an estimated 57 high-paying jobs and more than $3 million in capital investment to Jefferson County. Jeffco EDC worked in partnership with Jefferson County and the Colorado Office of Economic Development & International Trade to help secure the expansion project in Jefferson County.

CoorsTek logo

CoorsTek, the largest engineered ceramics manufacturer in the world, has been in Jefferson County since its establishment more than a century ago. The company is expanding its business operations in Golden by building a $120 million Center for Advanced Materials to support rapid development of new materials.

The 300,000 square-foot facility will feature a state-of-the-art R&D hub, a sophisticated analytical laboratory, and a world-class materials manufacturing facility. The expansion project will create nearly 50 new high-paying jobs and bring $60 million of capital investment to Jefferson County. Jeffco EDC worked in partnership with the city of Golden, Jefferson County, and the Colorado office of Economic Development and International trade to secure the expansion project. Today, CoorsTek remains one of the largest primary employers in the Jefferson County with 1,100 employees.

Ball Aerospace & Technologies Corporation (BATC), a subsidiary of Ball Corporation, provides aerospace and other technologies and services to governmental and commercial customers. The company recently broke ground on the expansion of its Aerospace Manufacturing Center, located in the city of Westminster.

The expansion will create an additional 261,000 square feet to its existing 186,000 square-foot facility. The $133 million project will bring $50 million in capital investment to the county, and the company has plans to more than double its employment by creating 450 jobs with an average wage of $92,000. BATC’s expansion supports continued growth with the company’s antenna and electronics business. Jeffco EDC worked in partnership with Jefferson County, the city of Westminster, and the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade on the project.

Zimmer Biomet

Zimmer Biomet Spine, Inc. relocated and expanded its operations in Jefferson County. The company leased 104,000 square feet at the Westmoor Technology Park, located in the city of Westminster.

The project will create 207 high-paying jobs with an average salary of $79,000 and $6.3 million in new capital investment to Jefferson County. Jeffco EDC worked in partnership with Jefferson County, the city of Westminster, and the Colorado Office of Economic Development to secure the project in Jefferson County. Zimmer Bioment Spine, Inc., a subsidiary of Zimmer Biomet, develops and manufactures orthopedic devices.

Prescient recently relocated and expanded its operations in Jefferson County. The company leased 120,000 square feet in the city of Arvada, and has plans to create 270 high-paying jobs and bring nearly $9 million of capital investment to Jefferson County.
