Lockheed Martin announced it will break ground on a $350 million 266,000 square-foot state-of-the-art satellite production facility at its Waterton facility. The new center is designed for the assembly, integration and testing of national security, scientific and commercial satellites. Once the Gateway Center is complete, Lockheed will have 3.5 million square feet of production, engineering, testing and office space, making Jefferson County home to one of the largest space manufacturing centers in the world.
